What is MCGA?

MCGA (Malaysia Cat Groomer Association) is a non-profit cat association in Seri Kembangan that has been in operation since 2020.

We believes in life long professional development, ongoing enrichment, sharing of grooming creativities and the opportunity to enhance and challenge oneself.

We help set standards to which all responsible Cat Groomers and Stylists should adhere, regardless of where and how they were trained.

We encourage all cat groomers to act professionally at all times, run their business with honesty and integrity towards their customers and promote professionalism, compassion, and industry-wide participation in continuing education.

Through workshops, seminars, competition, and examination testing, MCGA will offer cat groomers the chance to develop their abilities and become certified.

Our mission is to elevate the level of cat groomers and cat grooming spas, salons, and pet stores in Malaysia by offering exclusive learning opportunities, rules, tests, examinations and other resources.

We work to advance the highest level of expertise in our field, adherence to a strong code of ethics, and support for legislation for cat groomers in Malaysia.

Objectives

To set standards for cat grooming practice in Malaysia that cat groomers should adhere, regardless of where and how they were trained.

Promotes public awareness of the role and qualifications of professional cat groomers.

Protects the public by assuring the competence and moral behaviour of cat groomers in Malaysia and as association members.

Promotes and improves its members' knowledge, skills, and proficiency in all areas related to the cat care and cat grooming professions.

Engages in initiatives that encourage, support, and advance the education of people aspiring to careers as professional cat groomers.
