CODE OF CONDUCT:
Every cat groomer should strive to treat every cat entrusted to their care in a kind, patience, respectful, and compassionate manner in order to ensure their safety, health & well-being.
Every cat grooming centre should act professionally, run their companies with honesty and integrity towards their clients, and promote professionalism, compassion, and industry-wide participation in ongoing education.
There may occasionally be personality conflicts, but everyone should make an effort to treat the other members with respect. Personal attacks that intentionally cause anguish to other members will not be tolerated and may result in termination of membership or a stand-down period from specific events.
Registered groomers and registered cat grooming centre of MCGA are expected to handle cats professionally and carefully. The discomfort of the cats under their care must be minimised at all costs. This will include aggressive cats handling. It is the duty of groomers to inform owners of a proper cat grooming procedures and obtain their consent in order to prevent any health issues later on.
5. If a registered groomer or a registered cat grooming centre is concerned about the abuse or improper handling of a cat by another groomer or centre, they should first gather evidence of the problem and send it to the appropriate authorities, such as the Malaysia Animal Association (MAA) or the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS), with a copy to the MCGA.
6. It is not appropriate, nor do we condone, our registered groomer and our registered cat grooming centre attacking other groomers and centre either online or in private regardless of the reason. Our registered groomers should always hold themselves to a high level of conduct and refrain from name-shaming or bullying other professionals.
